Round 1 of the UCI Downhill Mountainbike World Cup is done & dusted but with Red Bull now having all the filming rights there seems to be less videos going around. I’m sure the teams can still produce their own race vids but I haven’t seen any yet. Anyway, here’s a few vids to check out before the weekend. The weather’s looking great again (finally) so I’m gonna head off to Innerleithen this afternoon!

UCI DH World Cup: PMB finals highlights

What an awesome performance from Aaron Gwin, proving that it’s definitely not the bike that was holding him back last year. Gutted for Josh Bryceland – he’s looking on form but it seems every time he puts in a good run he either crashes or gets a mechanical! Still, it’s not going to be long before we see him on the top step, that’s for sure. In the women’s, a great run from Manon Carpenter to take her first World Cup win. Rachel was on good form as always, managing to put in a good run despite being ill and having minimal practise time on the track.

Carson Storch Backflips at the Sea Otter DH

Not gonna win? might as well throw down a backflip!

‘Tatsu’ By Pale Horse Time-Lapse

Something a bit different this week – check out this time lapse from Pale Horse Design working on a dragon illustration. I’ve liked Chris’ style for a few years tho more recently he seems to be creating more symmetrical, precise designs, which are still amazing, but I prefer this older style which is a bit more loose looking. If you want to see more of Chris’ work you can check out his website, and read an interview with him on Abduzeedo.com.

DH World Cup Round 2 Course Preview – Cairns

Round 2 of the World Cup is next weekend (25th – 27th April) in Cairns, Australia. Take a run down the track with Mick Hannah on his home track. Who’s you money on for the win? Sik Mik is definitely hungry for it and he certainly has the pedalling power needed for a fast course like this, but then so does Minnaar, and you can’t count out Aaron Gwin after last weekend’s storming return to form!
